"COME THE HALE-BOPP"
A few months before approaching the Earth, it could be observed how
the Hale-Bopp comet was increasing in brightness and how its tail was
getting longer and longer. This picture was taken 7 monts before its
perihelion and binoculars were needed to watch it. To take pictures
of the comet we had to follow the movement of the stars, due to the
long exposure times. At this time, the comet was located near the Milky
Way.
